Many diameters and types of wire are required to produce wire mesh and cloth. Since our foundation in 1917 we at Dinxperlo have manufactured the wires ourselves to ensure optimum quality for the various products. We have our own wire mill producing metal wire in a wide range of diameters. Using hard metal or diamond dies, wires can be drawn with a diameter of 5.5mm down to 0.05mm. Wires can be hard drawn for special purposes or soft annealed for most weaving purposes. We also supply wire for other applications: 0.5mm aluminium wire for tea bag staples (‘tea wire’); soft annealed wire for bag fasteners; also stainless steel wire for thatching, animal cages, brushes, lamps, cigarette lighters, ballpoint pens, cable reinforcement etc.
Wire can be supplied on reels or usually on plastic or metal spools, hard or soft, uncoated, copper-plated or galvanized.
